Networking and Security

Running Cortex opens number of ports on the system. If you run a firewall you'll need to make sure that these ports are open so Cortex can function. Keep in mind that you'll also need to open ports in your firewall for each game server you are running.

Encryption and Licensing

In an effort to protect Insomnia365's intellectual property Cortex requires a license to run, and its code has been encrypted. This license is located in the etc/ directory in Linux and in the Cortex root directory on Windows servers. Modifying or removing the license file will cause Cortex to generate errors whenever it generates a page. If you recieve the error "Warning: No license for this product ('i365rs') - make sure zend_optimizer.license_path is properly configured in php.ini!" please contact Insomnia365 or your reseller to reset your license.
